Type of fortification that proliferated in Andalusia during the last Muslim Emirate, in the 14th and 15th centuries, being one of two preserved intact in Málaga area.

It was part of a farmstead or place associated with the exploitation of the field. 13 metres high tower was a defensive system that favoured monitoring distance, serving as well as shelter to the farmer during an attack.

His name could be derived from the last Muslim Governor who defended it.

It passed in Christian hands in 1485 after the conquest of Alhaurin, later adding elements such as the belfry of brick with arc´s midpoint and the access stairs to the tower. After the moorish revolt in 1569-70, there was a massive evacuation of the moorish population in this area.
