En la Barriada hom\u00f3nima se conmemora la festividad del Patr\u00f3n de los animales. En los primeros d\u00edas del mes de mayo Alhaur\u00edn el Grande vive una de sus grandes fiestas de gloria, el D\u00eda de la Cruz. Se celebra entre el 1 y el 3 de mayo, cuando la Cofrad\u00eda de la Santa Vera Cruz (Los Verdes) organiza actos y cultos religiosos, desfiles de bandas de m\u00fasica y procesiones en honor a su principal titular, el Cristo de la Vera Cruz.
